8 Simple Items for Busy Black Women (Under $25!)

The glow up doesn’t have to be one big overnight transformation! A few tweaks to your routine and investment in key items can really make all the difference in your mood. Over the last few months, I’ve made simple adjustments to my home and routine that have helped me level up. You also deserve nice things – treat yo’self, sis!

Improve and simplify your busy life with this tiny list of tiny things that are all under $25!

  1. Satin Pillowcase: This is a MUST for ladies with natural hair! Also, satin pillowcases are amazing for those who are concerned about fine lines and wrinkles. Win! Get TWO satin pillowcases for only $10!
  2. Shea Butter: I’m late as hell, but shea butter is great for the skin AND hair. Also, it doesn’t clog pores (unlike coconut oil). A little bit goes a long way, so if you can only treat yourself to one thing, let it be 10.5 oz of raw shea butter.
  3. Shower Speaker: My roommate upgraded my life with a bluetooth shower speaker. It helps me keep track of time and shorten my (long) showers. This shower speaker is rechargeable with a standard USB cord!
  4. Mason Jars. They’re good for everything. Use them as glasses. Freeze leftovers. Meal prep. Store laundry detergent instead of lugging the whole jug to the laundromat – “you naaaame it!”
  5. Rose Petal Witch Hazel: Witch hazel is great for inflammation (can be swapped for toner) but usually has a smell. Rose petals, tho? YOU DESERVE.
  6. Hair products made specifically for beautiful kinky, curly afro hair:
    1. KINKY CURLY Knot Today Conditioner (2 for $20~)
    2. Miss Jessie’s PILLOW SOFT CURLS
  7. French Press Coffee Maker! Listen. Regular coffee makers are for peasants. If you’re gonna buy nice coffee, it should be hand pressed. It actually makes a difference.
  8. Affirmation Cards: I select a card every morning and it reminds me to be mindful and starts my day with a positive message.

  1. I don’t have a satin pillowcase, but a scarf and bonnet are good for me. Mason jars are awesome for food storage, smoothies and juices. I can’t believe I wasn’t using them until recently.

  2. I seriously love this and use/own most of the items you mentioned. Except one stood out to me, bluetooth shower speaker. Omgg. Why have I never heard of this? I need it stat lol

  3. I need to get the shower speaker and start using shea butter (been meaning to do this for a while)! My item is my planner. Don’t know what I would do without it. I know many people use apps on their phones or have their planner electronically, but I love my old fashion write it down, cross it off planner!

  4. This list looks like mine and my daughter’s weekend shopping list. I love every bit of it. The one thing that I do need to check out is the witch hazel. I’ve been looking for a substitute to standard toners.

  5. Yes! Rose petals! I used to use rose water as a toner on my face and always loved the smell. French Press coffee is a must too! Then of course Mason Jars..is there anything they can’t do?

  6. We recently switched to Shea butter from coconut oil and love it. Carrying around affirmation cards sounds like a great way to stay grounded in positivity. I have a ton of mason jars at home, you can never have enough!

  7. These are great ideas for both black men and women. Love the list. If I had to add anything to it it would be a resuable bpa free water bottle to help stay properly hydrated throughout the day!

  8. ooohh have everything except the French press!! Lol. I’m not a big coffee drinker. My kids don’t really know what to do with regular lotion because we only use Shea

  9. This post is on point. I can attest to this because I use every single last one of these! haha Well, I use regular witch hazel. I’ve never heard of rose petal witch hazel. Heading to amazon right now to get me some. I deserve!
